How Google Street View got a conman convicted in Britain

UK · Reply

A british conman who sold stolen luxury caravans on eBay has been convicted thanks to Google Street View. According to Manchester Evening News a guy in Stretford, UK sold £34,000 ($50000) worth of stolen motor-homes.

Part of the evidence used against Cochrane in court was a Google Street View image showing a man matching his description outside his house in Stretford jet-washing a large motor-home while stood on top of it.

Oops.

He’s been ordered to pay £10,000 or face prison. That’s $15000.
