Brincadeiras à parte, isso mostra que o que parece óbvio para alguns (no caso, os alemães que estão acostumados com o sinal) pode parecer estranho para outros. A linguagem das placas de sinalização que deveria ser intuitiva e independente do idioma, falhou nesse caso.

What is completely obvious for some people may be strange and fun to others. Visual signs should not be explained. A big “fail” to the designers of this sign.

Why ? That sign is used in germany to show the “end” of the Fussgaenger Zone 🙂
I think it would be translated correctly as “Pedestrian Zone” 🙂
