A photo taken by Google Street View, in August 2011, shows the singer Marília Mendonça (1995-2021), at the age of 16, sitting at the table of her mother’s bar, in Goiânia. In the image, which reverberated on social networks recently, she appears in school uniform, talking on the phone, next to her brother, João Gustavo.

[…] The repercussion of the image coincided with the four years of Marília Mendonça’s death, completed on November 5. The singer, who was 26 years old, died in the crash of a twin-engine plane in Piedade de Caratinga, in the interior of Minas Gerais.

[…] Marília Mendonça was one of the main voices of Brazilian country music and a symbol of the so-called “feminejo”, a movement that expanded the space of women in the genre. Born in Cristianópolis and raised in Goiânia, she started composing as a teenager and released her first EP in 2014.

Two years later, she achieved national prominence with the hit Infiel. From then on, it became a popular phenomenon, gathering crowds at concerts and dominating the music charts with hits such as Eu Sei de Cor, Ciumeira, Supera, Graveto, Leão and Todo Mundo Vai Sofr.

In 2019, she won the Latin Grammy for Best Country Music Album. Marília left a son, Léo, the result of her relationship with singer Murilo Huff.

  1. Please report to the administrator here that the Google Maps link in this post is not displaying in the Microsoft Edge browser (desktop and smartphone) when the native translator is enabled. In Firefox and Chrome, everything is working perfectly with the translator active. Regarding the error I reported, you should put the link below the image to fix the error present in Microsoft Edge.
