Google Street View got a new competitor

Mumbai based indian map service Wonobo today released it’s own Street View service. So far only parts of India is covered, but that’s still more than Google Street View offer in this nation.
You can see street level images from 12 cities in India right now and it will soon expand to 54 cities. Google have had problems getting permission to take similar Street View images in India. Wonobo is loading very slow today. I guess there has been a lot of traffic this first day.

Iceland is now on Google Street View
Google visitied Iceland and it’s capital Reykjavík this summer to take some Street View images. And the images are now available for everyone to see on Google Maps. It’s not too hard to find a nice place in the countryside of Iceland. Here’s one of the first images we found.

The Great Wall of China now on Google Photo Spheres
The Google Street View cars have not been allowed in China yet, but some new smartphones can create Photo Spheres in 360 degrees. And that’s now available from The Great Wall of China and many other places around China.
