See new Street View feature announced today: The Trekker
A backpack containing a smaller version of the Street View car equipment was shown for the first time today at a google event. It looks like this:

It has an 15-lens camera that can shoot 46MP images. An Android smartphone plugged into the backpack control the Trekker. It will be used to map out castles, ruins, hiking trails where vehicles can’t go. Google announced this means Street View will come to the Grand Canyon.

Well, not the planet but the famous painting “The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli. You can see the painting at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. Or on Street View.

On this day 5 years ago we opened up StreetViewFun.com and posted the first funny Street View image. View the first image. This was a week after Google Maps Street View was released.
