Google Maps explains:

“With Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) or higher, you can capture a 360-degree panorama directly from your Camera app. Once you have a photo to share, you can choose to share your panorama on Google Maps and Google+. To see all your shared panoramas, click on My Panoramas above.

Once you choose to share your panorama, the photo will be uploaded to Google Maps for the world to see. Your panoramas can appear on Google Maps, Google Earth, Google Search, Google+ Local, and even third-party sites using the Google Maps API.”

Today we’re making our Street View coverage more comprehensive than ever before by launching our biggest ever update–doubling our number of special collections and updating over 250,000 miles of roads around the world. We’re increasing Street View coverage in Macau, Singapore, Sweden, the U.S., Thailand, Taiwan, Italy, Great Britain, Denmark, Norway and Canada. And we’re launching special collections in South Africa, Japan, Spain, France, Brazil and Mexico, among others.
