More islands of Hawaii now have Google Maps Street View coverage. Google today announced “newly expanded Street View coverage of Hawaii’s six major islands”. This is The Kohala coast on the Big Island of Hawaii.

See new Street View feature announced today: The Trekker
A backpack containing a smaller version of the Street View car equipment was shown for the first time today at a google event. It looks like this:

It has an 15-lens camera that can shoot 46MP images. An Android smartphone plugged into the backpack control the Trekker. It will be used to map out castles, ruins, hiking trails where vehicles can’t go. Google announced this means Street View will come to the Grand Canyon.
