Street View taking images on Amazon river
Google Maps Street View is currently taking images on the Negro river in the Amazon, Brazil. Images will be taken from a boat and also a trike. The trike will have the 360 degree camera mounted on it’s top. This is a partnership with Brazil’s Amazonas Sustainable Foundation (FAS) to show the Amazon area and it’s communities. We’re looking forward to seeing the images in a couple of months time!
Google Maps Street View now in Iraq
Google have just announced: Starting today, you can view Iraq’s National Museum in Baghdad on Google Maps.
Men firing at Google Maps Street View car!
Four men with muskets can be seen on this Google Maps Street View image. Are they taking aim at the google car? The men are dressed as period soldiers and are firing their muskets from Fort Wellington in Prescott, Canada. They are shooting towards the US. You can see the smoke from the muskets.
If you pan around you can also see an old ship at sea. This is the Fort Wellington National Historic Site. I wonder if this was a coincidence or if they knew google was coming? (^ Jim L)
