StreetView doubles coverage in the US
Google announced today that they have doubled StreetView coverage in the US. Lot’s of more images available today!
This will bring Street View to some new cities, like Memphis, Birmingham, and Charleston (SC), and also to a few states for the first time, like Maine, West Virginia, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
You can now for instance see the Portland Head Lighthouse, Maine
Street View car on a Racing Track
Google Street View came to Thunderhill Raceway in California on December 5th to map the circuit. Here is a video of a Fun Cup racing car that shows the photography taking place:
The finished photos should be published in January sometime, and will appear HERE.
Google turns Main St into Back St.
The Strand is the main street of Whakatane, NZ. The Google car doesn’t appear to have spent much time in town & what it did it seemed to have screwed up.
Next image jumps to the service street that runs behind the shops.
Then jumps back again at 158 the Strand.
