Police investigation solve Street View mystery of man in the back of a pickup truck

Police in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA started an investigation into this scary Google Street View image. After some research the mystery took an unexpected turn – it’s Oscar. Oscar is a U.S. Coast Guard search-and-rescue dummy.
Capt. Nyx Cangemi, a Coast Guard spokesman, said members of the Coast Guard’s local sector saw an article in the StarNews on Wednesday and identified the pickup truck in the photograph as one of their vehicles.
Oscar the dummy is generally used for man-overboard drills and recovering people from the water. (source)
Google Street View show new images from nuclear evacuation zone
New images are now available on Google Street View from the 2011 tsunami and earthquake-affected areas in Japan. This is the entrance to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant. Google are also publishing imagery of new areas within the Fukushima Exclusion Zone, including the abandoned towns Ōkuma and Futaba.
– We hope that providing this new street-level imagery on Google Maps can make the memories of the disaster relevant and palpable for future generations, says Kei Kawai, Group Product Manager, Street View.
