The Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland is one of the oldest of it’s kind. You can now enter this amazing mine on Google Street View to see statues and a church. It produced table salt all the way back in the 13th century and continuously until 2007 when it closed (source).

Police in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA started an investigation into this scary Google Street View image. After some research the mystery took an unexpected turn – it’s Oscar. Oscar is a U.S. Coast Guard search-and-rescue dummy.
Capt. Nyx Cangemi, a Coast Guard spokesman, said members of the Coast Guard’s local sector saw an article in the StarNews on Wednesday and identified the pickup truck in the photograph as one of their vehicles.
Oscar the dummy is generally used for man-overboard drills and recovering people from the water. (source)
