Written on June 20, 2011 by Tviki
Joint Stock Company Regio is from June 19 until the end of this summer’s external work on the technology of Street View, in which will be collected images of objects obtained by means of photographs, laser measurements of roads and GPS-navigation, as well as information on road signs.
This is a continuation of the test work conducted in the past year. Cars will travel mostly on the highway – in urban centers, they will only move on roads and past the major tourist sites. According to the available target, the data obtained will then be used to map Google Street View, where you can make virtual walk in the cities of the world.
Management of the company Regio emphasizes that these privacy issues are very important, so the company agreed on its work with the Data Protection Inspectorate and would keep inspectors in the course of their future plans.
