Today Google Maps will add six new areas covered by Street View. The total number of cities will then be 15. The new cities added today will be Phoenix, Tucson, Chicago, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Portland, Ore.
The images in Phoenix, Tucson and parts of Chicago are all in high resolution like in San Francisco and San Diego.
Google have also introduced the ability to pan up in most new cities so you can watch the skyscrapers.

StreetView in London
We believe Google will soon have StreetView images of London. A car taking StreetView images has been spotted in that city recently.
It’s also been reported that StreetView is coming to Canada soon. Outside the US Google will respect the stricter privacy rules. That means they need to blur faces and registration plates.

StreetView without faces
Google have now responded to critics in Europe and Canada about releasing StreetView in those countries where privacy is more protected in public spaces.
Street View isn’t available outside of the US yet, but when it is, we’ll be sure to respect local laws. We understand that means that we’ll have to ensure that there aren’t identifiable faces and license plates in some countries.
How fun will that be and how much work will it be to blur all faces?
