We are experiencing extremely heavy traffic at the moment to this site. That is why pages might load slower than usual. Sorry… So far today we are getting about 10 times as many visitors as on a normal busy day. This is already the most visitors we’ve ever had on a single day since we started in 2007!

More than 5,000 StreetViews on streetviewfun.com
We’ve now added more than 5,000 streetview images to StreetViewFun.com since the launch in 2007. Thanks to all who have contributed with streetview sightings over the years! You can see a list of the top contributors in the menu to the right.
Also a special thanks to those who send images over email and don’t have an account here. They don’t get added to the top contributors list automaticly. But we can do it manually. Simply mention your username when you send us the streetview sighting over email.
So, if you prefer to send us streetview links over email and wish to get added to this contributor list, please create a username. We’ve moved to a new faster server today
Everything went faster and better than expected during the move. If you notice any errors, please make a comment to this post.
We made the move to reduce the problems we’ve had when we get extreme traffic. When streetview images are added by Google to new regions traffic increases rapidly over the next few days. This new cloud hosting solution will be able to handle much more traffic and scale down when there is less traffic. The first test came within just an hour of the move when a popular german site mentioned streetviewfun.com. It handled the extra traffic very well.
In the past we’ve had to disable many features such as ratings while the traffic was heavy to this site. We hope to avoid downtime and turning off features with this server move.

There are now more than 4000 streetviews on StreetViewFun.com. The site launched on June 2nd, 2007, shortly after Google had released it’s StreetView service. Thanks to all who have contributed and sent sightings! You can see a list of Top Contributors in the menu to the right.

Traffic jam at streetviewfun.com
Today has been a busy day due to new images released from Mexico, Spain, Hawaii and the Netherlands. Traffic to streetviewfun.com has been extreme today and as a result of that our server has been down repeatedly. We are working on solving this. Ratings are turned off at the moment to reduce load on the server, but will be back as soon as things are more stable again. Apparently over 99% of our visitors come from Holland today. Anyone know if we have been mentioned in some news stories over there? The answer
