A couple in Pittsburgh have sued Google claiming street view images of their home invades privacy. The images were taken from a private road owned by the couple and that’s why they may have a valid case, but most likely Google have not done anything illegal when publishing those images.

    It’s called trespassing. It’s a crime. Posting the pictures was illegal as well since they were not taken from public property. That’s how privacy laws work. You can publish pictures taken from public property (i.e. public roads) but in order to publish pictures taken from private property, you have to have permission from the owner of the property. It’s really not that hard to understand.
